Behind the Keyboard

My name is Parker and I currently live in Chicago, where I am working as a Writer and Editor. I’ve been out of Grad school for more than a year now, and it turns out I have no idea what I’m doing with my life. Funny how the older I get the less I seem to know who I am, where I belong, and what the hell I’m meant to be doing.

I started this blog in 2013 when I was nearly 20 and itching to break out of my self, the place I grew up in, and the cultural scripts I had grown to operate within. Five years later and I’ve learned a lot, but I also have so many more questions now. This blog was, and is, a reflection of my journey to finding the pieces: who I am, where I belong, and who I belong with.

I’ll write about my misadventures in cooking, my quest to find home, my faith, and my journey as a trans guy. I might even write about my health and weight loss, my love of YouTube and tech, or anything else that I’m working on at the moment. It might be a little haphazard and inconsistent, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.
